FAQs
What is an Athletic Booster Club?
An athletic booster club is a volunteer-led organization that raises funds, builds community, and provides additional support for a school's athletic programs and student-athletes.
The South Carroll High School Athletic Booster Club works in partnership with the school and Athletic Department to provide resources and opportunities beyond what school and county funding may provide. Support comes from memberships, sponsorships, concessions, fundraising, donations, and volunteers.
Who does the SCHS Athletic Booster Club support?
The Booster Club supports all South Carroll High School athletic programs and student-athletes - not just one team, sport, or season. Our goal is to strengthen the entire South Carroll athletic community by supporting needs such as:
- Equipment and team requests
- Facility improvements and special projects
- Student-athlete scholarships and recognition
- Concessions and athletic events
- Team and school-wide initiatives
- Programs and opportunities that benefit South Carroll athletics
When you support the Booster Club, you are supporting Cavalier athletics as a whole.
What is the difference between a Booster Club membership and a sponsorship?
Memberships are designed primarily for South Carroll families, alumni, staff, and individual supporters who want to support Cavalier athletics. Depending on the membership level, benefits may include Booster merchandise, team allocations, athletic event passes, recognition, and scholarship eligibility.
Sponsorships are designed primarily for businesses and organizations that want to support South Carroll athletics while receiving promotional and recognition benefits throughout the school year.
Both are important ways to support our student-athletes and athletic programs.

Where do my seasonal athletic participation fees go?
The seasonal athletic fees paid by families do not go to the SCHS Athletic Booster Club.
Those fees are collected through the school system and support athletics and athletic transportation county-wide.
The Booster Club is separately funded through memberships, sponsorships, concessions, fundraising, donations, and other Booster activities.

Where do the admission or gate fees I pay at athletic events go?
Gate receipts support the South Carroll Athletic Department directly.
Paying admission is an important way to support South Carroll athletics and helps the Athletic Department cover expenses associated with operating our athletic programs.
Gate receipts are separate from Booster Club membership dues and fundraising.
How do I buy tickets to a South Carroll athletic event?
Most commonly, tickets to South Carroll athletic events can either be purchased at the gate or in advance through GoFan.
Purchase tickets in advance here.
What is the difference between the Booster Club single-game family pass and a season pass purchased from the school?
A school season pass provides admission to all regular-season South Carroll home athletic events. Passes are NOT valid for away games, MPSSAA playoff games, or tournaments/competitions. Learn more here: SCHS Athletic Season Passes
A Booster Club single-game family pass is a one-time-use pass for admission to one eligible home athletic event for a family of up to six people. The pass must be surrendered when it is used.
Some higher-level Booster memberships and sponsorships include additional passes, so be sure to review the benefits associated with your membership or sponsorship level.
Does joining the Booster Club replace my school athletic fees or admission fees?
No. Booster Club membership is separate from both school athletic participation fees and game admission fees.
Each serves a different purpose:
- Athletic fees support athletics and transportation county-wide.
- Gate fees support the South Carroll Athletic Department.
- Booster Club memberships, sponsorships, donations, concessions, and fundraisers allow the Booster Club to provide additional resources and improvements for South Carroll student-athletes.
Supporting all three helps strengthen athletics at South Carroll.
Where does my Booster Club membership money go?
Membership revenue helps the Booster Club support South Carroll athletics through equipment purchases, facility improvements, team requests, scholarships, student-athlete recognition, special projects, and other needs that may not be fully covered through school or county funding.
All membership levels also include a designated amount that members may allocate to the South Carroll team of their choice.
Can I become a Booster Club member if I do not have a student-athlete at South Carroll?
Absolutely. Parents, grandparents, alumni, faculty, staff, community members, and Cavalier fans are all encouraged to support the Booster Club.
We also offer membership options for alumni, fans, coaches, and South Carroll staff.
Do I have to be a Booster Club member to attend a meeting?
No. Our monthly meetings are open to parents, guardians, coaches, faculty, team representatives, sponsors, volunteers, and other members of the South Carroll community who want to learn more or get involved.
Regular meetings are generally held on the second Monday of each month at 7:00 PM in the South Carroll Media Center. Meeting dates, times, and locations are subject to change. Please check the website in advance of all meetings.
Can I make a donation specifically for a particular South Carroll team?
All membership levels include an allocation to the team or club of the member's choice.
If you would like to make an additional donation for a particular purpose or team, please contact the Booster Club at [email protected] before submitting the donation so we can make sure it is handled and designated appropriately.
Is the Booster Club the same as the South Carroll Athletic Department?
No. The SCHS Athletic Booster Club is a separate volunteer organization that works closely with South Carroll High School and the Athletic Department.
The Booster Club raises funds and provides volunteer and financial support to enhance the athletic experience for South Carroll student-athletes. The Athletic Department is responsible for administering the school's athletic programs.
