Volunteer Positions
We are seeking interested volunteers to assist with the following roles. Please also check out our short term volunteer opportunities.
Treasurer
The SCHS Athletic Booster Club is looking for a dependable and detail-oriented parent or community member to join our 2026–2027 Board of Directors as Treasurer.
This is a volunteer Executive Board position and an important part of keeping the Booster Club running smoothly. The Treasurer works closely with the President and other Board members to manage the Club’s day-to-day financial activity, maintain accurate records, and provide the Board with timely financial information.
What You'll Do
The Treasurer oversees the Booster Club’s financial operations throughout the school year.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and responding to Treasurer emails and financial requests on a regular basis
- Processing payments and reimbursement requests for teams, coaches, vendors, and Booster Club activities
- Depositing checks and cash received by the Booster Club
- Collecting concession stand cash from the Club’s safes and making deposits, generally weekly during active seasons
- Withdrawing and preparing cash needed for concession operations, fundraisers, and special events
- Maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
- Reviewing and itemizing Stripe and Square deposits in QuickBooks Online so individual transactions and revenue are properly categorized
- Monitoring Booster Club bank accounts regularly for fraud, suspicious transactions, or other unusual activity
- Reconciling bank and financial accounts each month
- Preparing monthly financial reports for presentation at Booster Club meetings
- Assisting the Board with developing the Club’s annual budget and monitoring actual financial activity against the budget
- Working with Parent Booster USA to complete the Booster Club’s required annual tax filings
- Maintaining appropriate financial documentation and records
- Attending monthly Booster Club meetings and providing a Treasurer’s report
- Supporting the Executive Board with financial questions and other financial matters as needed
Who We're Looking For
You do not need to be an accountant or have professional bookkeeping experience to be a great fit.
Knowledge of QuickBooks Online is helpful, but we are also happy to work with someone who is comfortable with numbers and willing to learn the system.
Because the Treasurer handles a steady flow of financial activity throughout the school year, we are looking for someone who is:
- Dependable and responsive
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Comfortable working with numbers and financial information
- Willing to learn and regularly use QuickBooks Online
- Able to monitor and respond to emails and requests throughout the week
- Comfortable handling and depositing cash and checks
- Able to maintain accurate and confidential financial records
- Willing to work collaboratively with the President and other Board members
Above-average attention to detail and consistent availability are more important than prior accounting experience.
Time Commitment
We want to be transparent about the commitment associated with this position. The Treasurer should anticipate approximately 6–12 hours per week, although the workload varies throughout the year.
The beginning of each athletic season and the end of each month tend to be the busiest periods. Payment and reimbursement requests also come in throughout the school year, so the position requires someone who can regularly monitor email and address time-sensitive requests.
Much of the work can be completed remotely and on your own schedule. The position is not complicated once the processes and systems are learned, but it does require consistent attention throughout the week.
The new Treasurer will receive training and transition support before assuming full responsibility for the position.

Who We're Looking For
You do not need prior fundraising experience to be a great fit.

You'll work alongside the Executive Board and other At-Large Board Members, so you won't be doing it alone.
